Award Climate Week NYC Industry Recognition September 2026

4BlueTech recognised at Climate Week NYC 2026

4BlueTech received industry recognition this September at Climate Week NYC 2026, awarded by the Chamber of Commerce of New York City for outstanding contribution to applied climate biotechnology. The recognition places 4BlueTech among a small group of European deep-tech companies acknowledged for developing industrial decarbonisation solutions with verified, near-term deployment potential.

Climate Week NYC — the largest climate conference coinciding with the United Nations General Assembly — brings together governments, investors, corporations, and innovators each September to accelerate action across sectors. The 2026 edition centred on industrial and marine emissions, making 4BlueTech's modular CO₂ and NOx capture platform a natural fit for the conversation.

"Being recognised in New York during Climate Week confirms that the problem we are solving — making emission capture economically viable for ports, shipping, and industry — is seen globally as one of the defining challenges of this decade," said Marc Cortès, CEO of 4BlueTech. "We are proud to bring Barcelona and Helsinki's science to the world stage."

The company's P1Blue modular capture unit, currently in pilot at the Port of Barcelona, converts CO₂ and NOx from industrial and marine exhaust streams into biochar, biomethane, biofertiliser, and sustainable aviation fuel — all within a standard 20-foot ISO container. EU Programme Research & Development EISMEA 2025

4BlueTech selected as EU Coordinator for ALOBIOFERT

In 2025, 4BlueTech was selected as project coordinator for ALOBIOFERT — Algae-based Liquid Organic Biofertiliser from Captured Exhaust — under the I3-4 Biofertilizers cascade funding call administered by EISMEA (European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency), part of the European Union's Horizon innovation programme.

ALOBIOFERT addresses one of the critical output streams of the 4BlueTech capture process: the transformation of captured CO₂ and NOx into algae biomass that can be further refined into high-nitrogen liquid biofertiliser. Unlike synthetic fertilisers derived from fossil fuel processes, ALOBIOFERT-derived fertilisers close a carbon and nitrogen loop — converting industrial emissions into agricultural inputs at the point of capture.

As EU coordinator, 4BlueTech leads the multi-partner consortium responsible for the project's technical roadmap, partner coordination, and deliverable reporting to EISMEA. The role reflects the company's position as not only a technology developer but as an active builder of European deep-tech ecosystems around industrial bioeconomy.

The ALOBIOFERT project builds directly on 4BlueTech's proprietary Aloreactor platform — a photobioreactor designed for continuous microalgae cultivation from captured industrial exhaust. The Aloreactor feeds directly into the P1Blue modular unit, creating an end-to-end pathway from emission intake to certified biofertiliser output. See the full platform architecture.

The selection through a competitive EU cascade call process also validates 4BlueTech's IP position and the scientific credibility of its biological capture approach, complementing its existing EUIPO trademark registration and pending patent portfolio.
